The prominent Tom Cruise was reportedly having lunch in Birmingham today which caused a stir at a restaurant in the city.

Fans of the huge Hollywood star rushed to pick up their phones while dining at Pho Restaurant in Grand Central near New Street Station on Saturday, July 31.

The Top Gun and Mission Impossible actor – or someone who looked incredibly similar to him – was pictured at the Vietnamese restaurant around lunchtime.

Tom Cruise is in the UK right now on the set of Mission Impossible 7.

Some scenes were shot in neighboring Derbyshire, so he could well have made the trip to town.

But what did Brummies have to say about the apparently-emerging fame in the city?

One of them thought they knew exactly what was the reason for his visit to the second city.

They wrote: “He will have been in the new Kings Heath / Moseley Church of Scientology. ”

A second wrote: “This will be the first and the last time.”

A third was not at all impressed that the A-lister was in town.

“I was never a fan of him,” they wrote.

A fourth claimed he was a regular in the city – “He has been there several times.”

As others tagged their friends asking if they had seen him, one fan closely missed a surprise encounter with the celebrity.

“Looks like you missed something again,” tagged a friend, who then replied, “I was there today too.”
